The largest stone Buddha statue in the world at 233 feet tall. Carved into a riverside cliff during the Tang dynasty. Took about 90 years to complete. Hidden drainage channels protect the figure from erosion. Each finger is 11 feet long. Built to calm the dangerous river currents below. A UNESCO World Heritage Site.
