Over 180 years of construction. The flying buttresses were revolutionary engineering. Victor Hugo novel saved it from demolition in 1831. The 2019 fire destroyed the spire and roof. The rooster on top contained relics of Saint Denis and a piece of the Crown of Thorns. Over 12 million visitors per year before the fire.
