Built for the 1962 Seattle Worlds Fair in under 400 days. Stands 605 feet tall on a tripod base. Designed to withstand 200 mph winds and magnitude 9 earthquakes. The rotating restaurant sits 500 feet up. The foundation required 72 giant anchor bolts. The elevator descends at 10 mph with its own brake system.
