About Sigiriya

A 660-foot rock fortress rising from the jungle. King Kasyapa built a palace on top. The mirror wall was polished so the king could see his reflection. The frescoes depict 500 women, only 22 survive. The lion staircase gave it the name Lions Rock. Over 1,200 steps to the summit.
