About Piazza San Marco
Known as the drawing room of Europe by Napoleon. St Marks Basilica has over 8,000 square meters of mosaics. The Campanile collapsed in 1902 and was rebuilt exactly as before. The Doges Palace was the seat of government for 1,000 years. The bronze horses were looted from Constantinople. The square floods over 60 times per year.
