About Lascaux Caves
Over 600 parietal wall paintings covering the walls. The paintings are estimated to be 17,000 years old. The Hall of Bulls features a 17-foot-long bull. Discovered by teenagers in 1940. Closed to the public in 1963 to preserve the art. A replica was built 200 meters away. The pigment was made from minerals and animal fat.
