Built as a tomb for Pharaoh Khufu. 2.3 million limestone blocks averaging 2.5 tons each. Original height 481 feet, remained the tallest structure for 3,800 years. Aligned to true north with precision of 3/60th of a degree. The base covers 13 acres. Construction took approximately 20 years.
